CROPCIRCLECENTRE.COM

In September 2000 I received a remarkable book from Germany. It was a beautifully laid out volume about the crop circles written and compiled by Bertold Zugelder, a graphic design student, as his graduation submission. He was to be awarded an A+ for the work, but much more important for us was the fact that this lovely book foretold Bertold’s initiation of cropcircle-archive.com (which is now cropcirclecenter.com) the most assiduous and...

Lifting the Lid on Milk Hill

Hindsight, of course, is the most accurate of sciences. When writing about the Honey Street Lobsters formation I said, talking about two-stage formations, “after every phase, the design seems considered, poised and finished in its own right. There is rarely a sense that the formation is incomplete and awaiting an addition or expansion.” I was wrong. The beautiful Milk Hill formation of 6th July (just one mile north of the Lobsters and just one day after the lobsters second hit) was deliciously expectant from the moment it arrived.

Geometry, Oliver’s Castle & Seven

Seven is considered to represent spirit, revelation, the eternal feminine and that which lies behind the veil. Eleven is the first number of the Master Number series that is said to indicate degrees of contact and interaction with other dimensions. Given these credentials we cannot be surprised that these two noble numbers choose to hold themselves slightly aloof from such as the ordinary fours and nines.

Evolvers

In my blog on the Lobsters of Honeystreet (Feb 27th 2012) I was concerned with multi-hit formations and I said  “I would guess that there have been about twelve transformers (expanders? augmenters? evolvers? sequentials?)” It was an estimate and I was wrong! The wonderful Ross Holcombe writes: “I started to document what I call “expanded” formations a few years ago. I hadn’t added 2011 yet, so went back and added those in. My total...

The Spinners, East Meon & Wheathill

It was evident from the earliest days that the crop was usually, though not inevitably, swirled down with a rotational motion. The circularity of the phenomenon was an essential component. They were – most emphatically – crop circles. We had not yet experienced triangles, squares, pentagrams, hexagrams let alone fractals.
