Who might they be? (Part two)
Who might they be? (Part two)
In Part One I wrote “Chilbolton convinced me, after many years, that we were confronted here by an intelligence, an ability to envision and an evolution far beyond our own. The complexity and brilliance of this event played a large part in persuading me of its non-human origins.”
I apologise. I was wrong. I had forgotten Chuck Close.
Chuck Close (1) is a New York artist, certainly human, who has developed a unique and dazzling technique. Referring back to the Chilbolton face (Who might they be? Part One April 11 2016), we might consider each vigorously swirled tuft of wheat as a metaphorical pixel. And looking at Chuck Close’s work (2) we see that each of his “pixels” is vividly re-imagined, re-shaped and re-coloured.
Close, like me, is confined to a wheelchair; this is one of many reasons that I would not dream of suggesting he made the Chilbolton Face! I bring him in simply to celebrate the brilliance and inventiveness of our own species.
(Curiously, since I wrote this I see that Paul Simon’s latest album has a cover featuring a detail of Chuck Close’s work.)
OUR COUSINS: FURTHER SPECULATIONS
The late John Michell said “You must believe almost everything”. This proves to be invaluable advice, especially around these difficult topics and in these turbulent times.
John Michell was (as always) right but the word “almost” in his axiom is of crucial importance. It implies that we will be obliged, ultimately, to return to our own discernment.
And, having tried to believe (almost) everything, I find myself vigorously thrown back on my own discernment. In truth, I “know” as little about ETs as I do about crop circles and turning to Google (as one does) to find out about ET species I was overwhelmed! The sheer bulk of material is more confusing than informative. Are there 6 species or 12 or 28 or 54 or 82? And how many of these are already here with us? Do they arrive in metallic craft or do they live here, underground, in remote zones? Everyone seems to be certain but few offer sources, references nor indeed their own names. There is also a huge volume of imagery which, though it would do credit to Tussaud’s Chamber of Horrors, is as disappointingly conjectural as are the texts.
I learned little about ETs but I see clearly that Google, the web and social media, while promising us a window to view the world, are often no more than magnifying mirrors mercilessly reflecting our own fears, doubts and insecurities.
MY OWN DISCERNMENT…
Retiring, metaphorically deafened by the clamour of metaphorical claims, I considered what I felt I knew.
During a long and close involvement with the crop circles I met and spent time with both Whitley Strieber and the late John Mack. Both remarkable men whose work and insights are invaluable. I also met several contactees, abductees and experiencers. Despite the implausibility of their stories, and the necessity momentarily to suspend disbelief, I found them to be absolutely honest.
In California I was introduced to Darryl Anka and attended many workshops, both public and private, at which he channelled Bashar, a Fifth Dimensional being from the planet Essassani. Bashar represents himself as the spokesman or frontman for a group, presumably Essassanians. Occasionally, in these sessions he would pause, repeating almost mechanically “one moment, one moment…”, presumably waiting for a consensus to be reached about the appropriate response to a question.
His material was challenging and authentic. Sometimes, for example, when I had returned to California from Wiltshire after a crop circle season, Bashar would speak informatively about a formation which I had been working on. How could he know about this in such detail?
Our current worldview would dismiss this as delusional nonsense. Bearing in mind John Michell’s advice I hold the Bashar readings to be of real value.
TELEPATHY AND INTERACTIVITY
UFOs, crop circles, small greys, abductions remain for us inexplicable, While over the years sightings (and filmings) of balls of light or luminosities are commonplace, I recall only a handful of anecdotal reports of UFOs. And certainly there has never been a mention of a small grey or an abduction here in Crop Circle Land. Maybe it is a different team!
The UFO/ET culture is so overwhelmingly irreconcilable with our daily earthly norms and routines that the mind can become paralysed. How do we start to address the whole abduction issue? How can we digest the hybridisation stories? How are abductees moved through material walls and windows and does this ability perhaps relate to UFO technology?
Having wrestled hopelessly with this volume of questions for months (years!) I find I can excavate only a single gem of truth. Whatever else is claimed, few ideas are as consistent, widespread and regular as the telepathic and mind-controlling abilities of the ETs, whatever their particular species. There is, around the crop circles a substantial history of coincidence and synchronicity, of interactivity and telepathy and I believe that anyone who has been close to the circles will have a personal experience of this. For the moment then, I propose to ignore other characteristics and to concentrate on their telepathy. I believe it has a particular bearing on the crop circles.
THE CONTINUUM OF SPIRIT
Digressing for a moment I must mention here the universal Continuum of Spirit. We might think of the continuum as a length of string stretched between Love and Fear. The Love end (light) encompasses empathy, compassion and open heartedness while the Fear end (dark) includes insecurity and doubt and thus aggression and competitiveness. Our world, in cosmic exile for its lack of respect for life, tries constantly to move away from Fear but fails dismally to make progress. We attempt bravely to struggle towards the light but we are inexorably drawn back to darkness.
The Fear end of our string is tied with a firm knot to our Third Dimensional world. I surmise that the other might be a portal to the Fifth and other dimensions.

FIVE, SIX AND SEVEN
Curiously, what was intended to be a two part article needs a third episode. Thank you for your patience and please forgive me. I promise that Part 3 will arrive more quickly than this one. As the end of Part Two is no longer the end of the article, I have decided to include a quick study of the Hill Barn formation of 5/5/16 at West Overton (3 & 4).
The first formation of the season is always obsessively scanned. What does it imply? Are there portents? This clean little circle does not disappoint. It marries an apparent (and transparent) simplicity with, for those who look, a sophisticated geometry and numerology.
A flattened circle, of very approximately 150 feet in diameter was laid in oil-seed rape. Within the circle was a standing pentagon (five-sided not five-pointed). The pentagon was sized so that each of its five points or vertices would have precisely touched the edge of the circle – if it had been there! In fact a flattened satellite circle was placed over each of the five points of the pentagon. This simply describes the formation as it appeared.
However further investigation shows that the satellite circles were one third of the diameter of the main circle. Diagram (5) shows three circles perfectly lined up along the diameter of the main circle and all geometers will know that this 3 circle line is the basis of the hexagon (6) here a six-sided figure formed by seven circles. The crop circle narrative has often shown the importance of the relationship between six and seven but here they are playing with five as well. Each petal of the pretty six-fold flower exactly kisses the circle of a five-fold formation.
Part Three will follow.

Thanks: I have emerged from a bad period through which I was sustained by many dear pals. You know who you are! Thank you.

The telepathic nature of crop circle makers intrigues me. I had a curious encounter one evening wherein the face of the individual I was with, transformed into a man’s face whom I did not know, but a man with somewhat close set eyes and a quizzical look on his face . I live in Victoria Canada. The next morning when I was online I saw the news that the first face had appeared in a crop circle… It was the exact image of the face that appeared on my friends face!
That is fascinating, Arlene. You are somehow very connected. I have been intrigued by crop circles for a long time myself. In fact, I am going to Wiltshire next month to research my next book–and hopefully experience a crop circle. I would also love to meet Michael Glickman and join his Tea Party.
I live in Saanichton, near Victoria. Perhaps we could exchange notes… Best regards, Dan
Hello Dan,
I’d love to hear about your experience there … did you manage to experience a circle, or meet Michael?
Best,
Arlene
Thank you, Michael! I always appreciate your thoughts and reflections!
